We only use organic and recycled materials that do not harm the environment. Our entire production chain benefits from some of the strictest environmental certifications and labels on the market.
We only use organic and recycled cotton. Organic cotton is a GMO-free natural fiber that uses less water than standard cotton. Furthermore, its production does not imply the use of chemical products (without fertilizers or pesticides) and encourages crop rotation to keep the soil healthier, more fertile and to maintain moisture. The waste from the cotton ginning process is also recycled for the animal feeding industry.
GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibers. GOTS tracks the entire production chain from the farm to the factory: from cotton harvesting, fiber weaving, item assembly, to the final product before printing, even the export of our clothing! GOTS also guarantees compliance with the labor standards of the International Labor Organization throughout the production chain.
Recycled cotton fabrics, made from recycled cotton and waste fabrics, reduce the use of virgin cotton and thus save a significant amount of water, CO2 and other impacts of cotton cultivation.
Recycled cotton is produced through a recycling process that is mostly mechanical. In a first step, fabrics and materials are classified by color. After this separation, the fabrics are passed through a machine that crushes the fabric into thread and then into raw fiber. In this part of the process a lot of stress is put on the fiber. During this crushing process, it is very easy for the fibers to break and tangle. The obtained raw fiber is spun back into bobbins for reuse in the production of other garments and accessories. The quality of the recycled fiber obtained through this process will never obtain the same quality values as the original fiber. Specifically, the length of the fiber and its uniformity are affected; This limits its application, its end use and creates the need to mix it with other fibers. The Global Recycled Standard label certifies that the materials used are recycled, in this case cotton.
We use recycled polyester to make our windbreakers and part of our sweatshirts. A windbreaker jacket allows to recycle between 7 and 8 PET plastic bottles, this way we give a second life to plastic waste, a very big challenge today.
The Global Recycled Standard label certifies that the materials used are recycled: in the case of polyester, plastic bottles, and cotton, waste from cutting. GRS also guarantees compliance with social and environmental criteria, such as wastewater treatment, the absence of certain toxic additives and respect for the working conditions in our associated factories.
We use this fiber when it is not going to be in close contact with the skin, as it might be harmful on the long term due to the chemical process that virgin polyester is obtained.
* Despite providing a solution to a real problem, synthetic garments can have a high detrimental impact on our seas, so we have to take some precautions before putting it in the washing machine.
We do not use animal products. This means that we do not conduct or commission animal testing of ingredients, formulations or finished products and we promise never to do so. In addition to this, our clothing is made from 100% vegan materials, so we can make sure that no harm on animals is happening during its creation. In addition to our products being vegan, we also defend veganism as a political position.
